SARTELL, Minn. – Minnesota State Moorhead tennis earned its second NSIC victory in as many days on Sunday afternoon. The Dragons earned a 4-3 win over Jamestown.
For the second consecutive day, Moorhead would earn the doubles point behind wins at the number two and three positions. The number two team of
Katryna Hansen and
Camilla Bonini would defeat Anna and Mariia Sharandachenko 6-3. In the number three match,
Emma Farder and
Autumn Kron would collect their second win of the weekend in a 6-3 decision over Sydney Friesen and Mykaela Jorgenson.
Jamestown would earn singles wins at the number one and two spots, but
Sophia Felderman would earn a needed Dragon victory. Felderman only needed straight sets to defeat Anna Sharandachenko (6-4, 6-2). It was Bonini and Kron who secured the dual victory for the Dragons at the number five and six positions. Bonini would move to 2-0 on the weekend behind a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Friesen. Kron, who lost in a close three-set battle on Saturday, responded positively against Jorgenson. The true freshman would defeat her opponent in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
