MOORHEAD, Minn. -- On National Girls and Women In Sports Day 2026, Minnesota State Moorhead athletics recognizes all of the incredible effort our student-athletes pour in while also helping inspire the next generation of female athletes.

In celebration of the annual day, we talked with a student-athlete from each women's sport to discuss leadership, advice they would pass along to young female athletes as well as their own personal stories. Student-athletes interviews include Terryn Johnson (women's basketball), Halle Balluff (golf), Lilly Allen (soccer), Teagan Pranchke (softball), Lacie Stark (swimming & diving), Luzmary Diaz Castillo (tennis), Hunter Petersen (track & field/cross country), Kiara Olesch (volleyball) as well as Reagan Kienenberger and Makynna Deelstra (dance).
