MELBOURNE, Fla. – Minnesota State Moorhead tennis claimed the doubles point again in Thursday morning action against East Stroudsburg. The Warriors would top the Dragons thanks to singles wins, 4-3.
For the second consecutive day, Moorhead would command doubles play, winning at both the number one and two positions.
Luzmary Diaz Castillo and
Sophia Felderman would conclude the week in Florida with a 3-0 record after a narrow 7-6 win over Ariel Kelsick and Jenna Kastell. The Dragons would lock up the team point thanks to a 7-5 victory for
Katryna Hansen and
Camilla Bonini.
Diaz Castillo and Felderman would keep their momentum for Moorhead as singles action commenced. The senior Diaz Castillo would score a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Lea Stefanovic for her ninth win of the season. Felderman would claim the first set against Audrey Conover (6-4) before dropping the second frame, 6-3. In a heated tiebreaker game, Felderman scored a 10-5 victory to win the match. The singles victory is also Felderman's ninth of the season.
