| By:
MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead softball is set to host its 2026 home opener this weekend in a pair of NSIC doubleheaders. The Dragons welcome Southwest Minnesota State on Friday beginning at 2 p.m. before hosting Sioux Falls for a Saturday twinbill at 2 p.m.

Live video and stats will be available at msumdragons.com. Please note that the doubleheaders were initially scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, but have been moved up a day due to impending weather. The Dragons wrapped up their non-conference slate last week in matchups against Southwest Baptist, Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri State.

Aura Farman...Senior pitcher Brynna Farman turned in three quality starts last weekend for the Dragons, pitching a total of 15.1 innings. Farman surrendered 12 total hits while only allowing one earned run with 15 strikeouts. The performance by Farman against Missouri Western on March 12 helped lead the Dragons past the (RV) Griffons, 1-0. Farman also bolsters a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in the circle this season.

Camden Brings The Lumber...Junior Lacey Camden showcased her power swing last week for the Dragons. Against Missouri Western on March 12, Camden was inserted as a pinch hitter in the top of the seventh inning. The Corona, Calif., native worked towards a 2-2 count before belting a solo home run to left field. Camden's homer helped lift the Dragons to a 1-0 victory over the Griffons. The junior also hit a solo home run against Southwest Baptist on March 9. Camden's two home runs this season leads the roster.

At The Dish...Senior Lexie Wilson continues to lead the Dragons in the batting average category, hitting for a .365 average, including a team-high 19 hits. Wilson has been consistent all season, tallying four doubles, seven RBIs and five runs scored. Her .529 on-base percentage also leads the team while also working out a team-high 16 walks. True freshman Riley McKeever is hitting .306 so far this season with 16 hits and four RBIs. Catcher Kayla Roidt leads the Dragons with 10 RBIs this season while both Loie Moore and Courtney Locke have scored 10 times.

In The Circle...After Farman's strong week of outings, the senior leads the Dragons in both innings pitched (32.2) and ERA (3.86). Farman has held batters to a .280 average so far this season with 26 strikeouts. Teagan Clemmons has twirled 30.1 innings for the Dragons this season with a team-high 27 strikeouts. Clemmons and Alyssa Ochoa each have a pitching victory this year as well.

On The Field...Heading into NSIC play, Moorhead has 10 players with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, led by McKeever. The true freshman has been flawless in 55 chances so far this season. Andrea Garcia is second on the team with a perfect fielding clip in 19 chances. As a collective, Moorhead holds a .954 fielding percentage in 570 total chances in the field.
