BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead tennis endured another closely contested dual on Sunday morning. The Dragons fell to Minnesota Duluth in NSIC play, 4-3.
Minnesota Duluth would sweep through doubles play to earn the coveted team point. All three matches were closely contested with identical 7-5 final scores.
Luzmary Diaz Castillo would earn her second singles win of the weekend at the number one position for the Dragons. Diaz Castillo grabbed her 11th win of the season over Carly Chaney (6-0, 6-0). At the number two position,
Katryna Hansen would also secure the weekend singles sweep, topping Mia Miller in straight sets (6-4, 6-3). Sophomore
Sophia Felderman would earn her 10th singles win of the season at the number three spot, defeating Sydney Friedrich, 6-4, 6-4.
The dual would come down to the number six position, which stretched into three sets.
Lydia Sparby would drop the first set to Olivia Gorton before evening the match with a 7-5 set two victory. Gorton would win the deciding set 6-1 to clinch the dual for the Bulldogs.
