MSUM Ready For Six-Game Homestand

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead softball wraps the home portion of its 2026 schedule this week with a six-game homestand. The Dragons are set to host Minnesota Crookston on Wednesday before welcoming Concordia-St. Paul and St. Cloud State on Saturday and Sunday. 

Live video and stats will be available at msumdragons.com. All doubleheaders are scheduled for a noon start time. MSUM is coming off a 2-2 week in NSIC play, securing a victory over both Bemidji State and Minnesota Duluth. 

Matchup History...The Dragons enter Wednesday's game against the Golden Eagles with a six-game winning streak in the series. Moorhead swept the Goldean Eagles last season in Moorhead. Minnesota Crookston last defeated the Dragons on April 4, 2022 with MSUM holding a 30-14 record in the series since 2009. The Golden Bears have claimed the last four contests with the Dragons. MSUM last defeated Concordia-St. Paul on April 24, 2023 in Moorhead. The Dragons and Huskies have split the last two games against one another, but St. Cloud State has won five of the last seven meetings overall. 

Hess Twirls A Gem...Sophomore pitcher Bella Hess would help lift the Dragons to a victory over Minnesota Duluth on Sunday. Hess would only allow a total of three hits, including holding a perfect game through three innings. The Folsom, Calif., native tallied seven strikeouts while only allowing one earned run in the game. Hess collected her fourth pitching decision of the season in the complete game effort. The seven strikeouts from Hess is a new career-high. 

At The Plate...True freshman Riley McKeever leads the Dragons with a .343 batting average so far this season. McKeever's 37 hits this season is tied for second-best on the roster with Courtney Locke. Senior Teagan Pranchke leads the Dragons with 39 total hits this season, clipping a solid .333 batting average. Fellow senior Lexie Wilson is hitting .324 this season wih 36 hits and a team-high 22 walks. Freshman Sami Macchiaroli has driven home 26 runs this season while Locke has crossed home 21 times this season. 

In The Circle...Senior Brynna Farman continues to lead the Dragons in both appearances (20) and innings pitched (81.1) this season. Farman has a team-low 4.48 ERA while also leading the roster with 60 strikeouts. The sophomore Hess is not far off Farman in the ERA category, holding a 4.51 rate in 66.2 innings pitched. Opposing batters are only hitting .272 off Hess this season. 

On The Field...The Dragons currently have seven players with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage led by freshman Andrea Garcia in 31 total chances. Kayla Roidt leads the team with 128 total putouts on the year. As a team, MSUM holds a .955 fielding percentage on 1,133 total chances.
