Dragon Wrestling to Host Summer Technique, Prospect Camps

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead wrestling has announced its summer camp offerings for 2026. The program will host a technique camp on June 1 and 2 before putting on a prospect camp on June 3. 

The camp offerings and further descriptions are below: 

Dragon Wrestling Technique Camp
June 1-2 (8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.)

Grades 5-8
Cost: $
100, includes lunch and a T-shirt 

Wrestlers will learn basic and advanced techniques which include: Takedowns, pins, nearfalls, escapes, reversals, riding and counter offense. These steps will be taught in progression. The techniques that are taught are proven to work against all levels of competition.

  • Campers will be placed in situations and wrestle live at the end of each technique session.
  • Wrestlers will be placed in live situations against each other according to size and experience.
  • The camp will also touch base on "Goal Setting" and having a "Winning Attitude" when it comes to the mat.

Dragon Wrestling Prospect Camp
June 3 (8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.)

Grades 9-12
Cost: $50
, includes lunch and a T-shirt 

Wrestlers will observe and replicate demonstrated techniques, progressing from fundamental skills to more advanced applications. Emphasis will be placed on proper execution and attention to detail. Wrestlers will engage in controlled, light competitive live drilling and live wrestling. These sessions are designed to reinforce technique and develop mat awareness in a competitive setting.Wrestlers will participate in a guided tour of Nemzek Athletic Facilities and the MSUM campus. This provides insight into available resources and the overall student-athlete experience.
