SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Minnesota State Moorhead cross country saw an array of top 25 and personal best times at Friday's Augustana Invitational.
Chase Hoechst and
Katelyn Kennedy would be the top Dragon finishers on the day. MSUM's men finished fourth as a team while MSUM's women's team placed 13
th.
The men's 8k race would begin the morning with fifth-year
Chase Hoechst guiding the Dragon scoring. Hoechst would finish 12
th overall marking a 24:45.3. Junior
Salman Mohamed would be five spots behind Hoechst, running a 24:49.7 to finish in 17
th place.
Janis Riekstins would bolster the Dragon scoring as well, placing 20
th overall with a personal best run. Riekstins would cross the line at 24:52.7, besting his previous personal best by nearly 25 seconds. The Riga, Latvia, product now ranks 21
st in MSUM history in the 8k run.
Jared Gregoire would run a 25:08.4 to finish in 33
rd while
Seth Meikle rounded out the scoring with a personal best. Meikle clocked a 25:17.6, over a full minute faster than his previous 8k best.
Hunter Haugen would follow suit, clocking a fresh personal best of 25:23.4 to finish four spots back of Meikle. Additionally,

Blake Frazer (25:31.7),
Preston Holewa (25:36.7),
Owen Cowan (26:00.8),
Zakariya Mohamed (26:17.5),
Logan Martinez (26:25.5),
Austin Dibble (26:31.2),
Jaxon Rolle (26:49.4) and
Caleb Osterberg (29:35.5) marked collegiate benchmarks.
Katelyn Kennedy would pace the Dragons in the women's 6k run, marking a personal best time of 22:17.4. The run for Kennedy moves her into eighth all-time in MSUM history in the 6k run.
Emma Jamison would also turn in a strong race for the Dragons, finishing six spots back of Kennedy at 22:25.3. That time now ranks ninth in Moorhead history.
Ava Dunnigan would enter the MSUM all-time top 25 as well, running a 23:26.6. For Dunnigan, the time ranks 23rd in Dragon history.
Lezah Dean would score for the Dragons behind a personal best time of 24:02.3.
Abbigail Thoma would conclude the MSUM scoring with a run of 24:10.3.
Sophia Ness (24:28.7),
Katie Ebnet (25:25.5),
Eden Andres (25:37.2) and
Chloe Sargent (25:56.4) would register 6k collegiate bests for the Dragons as well.
