MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team begins the first of two road tests in 2010. MSUM Dragons vs. Dickinson State Bluehawks

MSUM Dragons vs. Northern State Wolves (Coming Friday)

The Dragons have five wrestlers with 10 or more wins so far on the season including Evan Forde (14-6 at 133), Tim Johnson (12-5 at 285), Brady Schneeberger (12-9 at 141), Corey Ulmer (14-7 at 125) and Tallen Wald (10-9 at 157).

Corey Ulmer is ranked fourth in the North Region despite having the most wins of the eight wrestlers in the standings. Evan Forde has the second most wins in the 133-weight class and also sits fourth in the rankings.

Tim Johnson now ranks third in the North Region heavyweight class and also has the third best record in the rankings. Johnson has made it to the top four in each open and also has two wins over NCAA DI opponents. Brady Schneeberger will hope a win will help push him above the number five spot he currently holds in the rankings.

The Dickinson State Bluehawks will lean on their former national runner-up, junior Shane Bennett, to gain critical points and upset the Dragons.

The Northern State Wolves currently rank sixth in the North Region, one spot behind MSUM. The Wolves are 1-1 on their young season. After a convincing win over Dakota Wesleyan 42-10, Chadron State College upset the Wolves 28-19. They recently finished 12th at the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis, Ind. The team is lead by two-time national qualifier Cole Cornemann at 184 pounds.
