Dragons Suffer Heartbreaker to Wolves

| By:
ABERDEEN, S.D. - For the second night in a row, the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons wrestling team suffered a heartbreaking loss, this time in NSIC action, 19-16 to Northern State.

The loss is the Dragons' first in conference action, moving them to a 3-6 overall record and 1-1 in the NSIC.

Evan Forde, at 133 pounds, started the Dragons off with a technical fall win to put MSUM up 5-0.

It looked as though the Dragons lead would increase in the next match at 141 pounds, but Brady Schneeberger was taken down by Benton Crow with seconds left in the third to push the match to overtime. Schneeberger would not have the last word as Crow, built-up with momentum, took the Dragon down for the 11-9 win in sudden-death overtime, moving the team score to 5-3.

The Dragons would pick up two wins at the 149 and 157 pound weights as Tyler Steinwand and Tallen Wald each picked up a victory on their individual records, respectively. Steinwand won a major decision, 15-5, over Beau Voegeli.

The Wolves would take the next five matches, one by major decision to solidify their first conference win.

Corey Ulmer would finish with a win for the Dragons at 125 pounds, picking up a major decision win, 12-3.
