Live Video
MOORHEAD, MInn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team will face the Northland Community and Technical College Pioneers on Tuesday night at Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse in their 2016-17 home debut. The dual begins at 7 p.m.

The Dragons are coming off a strong performance at the Finn Grinaker Open, as well as the Holiday Inn Open classic in Kearney, Neb.

About the Dragons
Senior Blake Bosch, ranked No. 4 in the nation at 133, is 9-1 on the season. He is eight wins away from 100 for his Dragon career. He finished third at the Holiday Inn Classic in Kearney, Neb.

Sophomore Adam Blees is 7-3 on the year at 174 pounds.

Sophomore Austin May is 7-4 at 184 pounds while sophomore Jared Goldsmith is 7-5 at 125.  Sophomore Dylan Connell is 5-4 at 149 while senior Isaac Novacek has the same mark at 157.

Kris Nelson is in his eighth season as the MSUM head coach.

Last Week's Recap
The Dragons are 0-1 on the season, after losing their season-opening dual to crosstown rival Concordia last week. Senior Blake Bosch was the star of that match, as he defeated Aaron Dick by pin at 133 pounds. The Dragons would pick up another big win at 149 pounds when sophomore Dylan Connell defeated Ty Johnson in overtime. The Dragons would eventually fall, as the Cobbers escaped with a 21-15 victory.

Over the weekend, the Dragons were split up, with most of the team going to the Finn Grinaker Open at Concordia, while two individuals went to the Holiday Inn Open in Kearney, Neb.

At the Finn Grinaker Open, freshman Aaron Sistrunk, who was competing unattached, finished second at 133 pounds in the gold division. Connell finished fourth in the 149-pound gold division, while redshirt freshman Logan Rhode took second at the 174-pound maroon division.

Senior Blake Bosch led the Dragon contingent who went to the Holiday Inn Open, as he finished third in the 133-pound elite division. Sophomore Jared Goldsmith took fourth in the 125-pound amateur division.

ABOUT THE PIONEERS
The Pioneers compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Nathaniel Holecek leads the team with eight wins, including two major decisions. Michael Lambert has three pins to lead the team in that category.

UP NEXT
After the dual, MSUM is off until Dec. 4 when it hosts the Dragon Open.
