MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team continues action on the road this weekend with a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference contests. The Dragons will face the University of Sioux Falls on Saturday at 11 a.m., and Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Marshall, Minn.
MSUM is 0-2-1 on the season while Sioux Falls is 2-2 and SMSU is 0-3.
The Dragons are coming off a tight 1-0 loss to NSIC foe Northern State despite outshooting the Wolves 16-9. Senior midfielder

Avery Wood both led MSUM with three shots, and two shots on goal apiece while sophomore

Junior
Annika Greaney leads MSUM with five shots this season, and is tied for the team lead with two shots on goal. The other players with two shots on goal on the season are DeNardo and Wood. Edgington is the top goalkeeper so far, making 10 saves in 180 minutes of play.
Reagan VonBerge and
Kennedy Rodgers have combined this season to save all 11 shots they have faced collectively. Christie (Chappell) Kopietz is in her second season as the MSUM head coach.
Scouting the opposition
Sioux Falls
The Cougars enter the weekend with a 2-2 overall record, and a 1-0 conference record. They are coming off a 4-2 loss to Missouri Western State. Their conference win came on Sept. 8 when they defeated Southwest Minnesota State 2-0. The Cougars are led by Lauren LaFavre, who has two goals and one assist this season. Their lone goalkeeper to see action has been Morgan Perkins who has recorded 25 saves on the season, with one shutout. The Cougars are led by head coach Brittany Domino, who is in her third season at the helm.
Southwest Minnesota State
The Mustangs enter the weekend with an 0-3 overall record. They are coming off a 2-0 loss to Sioux Falls. Prior to the MSUM match, they will host Northern State on Saturday at 1 p.m. They are led by Emily Huddleston, who has five shots and two shots on goal this season. Amanda Hartmann has four shots, with two of them being on goal. Their lone goalkeeper has been Jessica Craigmile, who has 13 saves this season. Their head coach is Erin Kasmarik-Mallett, who is in her third season at the helm.
Upcoming
The Dragons make their regular-season home debut on Sept. 22, when they host Minnesota Duluth at 3 p.m. They will then travel to St. Cloud to face the Huskies on Sept. 24.
