The Dragons will wrap up a four-game homestand this weekend as they take on Augustana, Friday at 8 p.m., before facing on Wayne State, Saturday at 6 p.m.
LOOKING BACK...
MSUM went 0-2 last weekend after falling to both Minot State (87-62) and U-Mary (77-65).
In the Dragons loss to the Beavers,
Travaun Coad scored a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds, while sophomores
Johnny Beeninga and
Matt Anderson scored 11 points each. Coad added three assists, while Beeninga had two.
Against the Marauders, Coad recorded his second straight double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Park scored 16 points, while Beeninga had ten points. Senior guard Tanner Kretchman had three assists while
Briton Bussman and Coad each added two.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION...
Augustana University
The Vikings are 10-6 overall, and 5-5 in NSIC play this season after splitting a pair of games last weekend, first falling to Minnesota State Mankato in overtime, 94-91, before defeating Concordia-St. Paul, 76-60. Augustana's top scorer is Jordan Spencer who is averaging 16.2 points per game. Spencer also holds a team-best and NSIC-best of 7.8 assists per game. John Warren is averaging 14.9 ppg, while Steven Schaefer is averaging 13.1. Marcus Asmus is leading the Vikings with 7.3 rebounds per game. As a team Augustana scoring an NSIC-best 83.9 ppg while holding its opponents to 75.7 ppg. Augustana outrebounds its opponents 36.6-35.5. Tom Billeter is in his 15th year as head coach with a record of 271-152.
Wayne State College
The Wildcats are 10-8, 5-5 NSIC after defeating to Concordia-St. Paul, 83-71, before falling to Minnesota State Mankato, 75-74 last weekend. Wayne State is led by Kendall Jacks who is averaging 13.8 points per game, while Trevin Joseph and Vance Janssen is averaging 11.7 and 9.3 points per game, respectively. Brian Goodwin leads with 4.4 rebounds per game, while Jacks is averaging 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. The Wildcats are averaging 76.9 points per game while holding its opponents to 69.5 points. Wayne State's opponents hold an 34.8-33.1 edge in rebounds. Jeff Kaminsky is in his second season as head coach of the Wildcats with a record of 10-19.

Kretchman Breaks Records
Senior
Tanner Kretchman became the all-time career assist leader earlier this season in MSUM's victory over Northern Michigan. Kretchman now has 520 career assists. For the first time in the school's history Kretchman has posted back-to-back seasons with at least 200 assists. In MSUM's loss to Northern State he became the first MSUM player to reach 500 assists. Kretchman is also 11th all-time in scoring with 1,394 points and is now fourth in career three-point field goals made with 224. The senior is also tied for the lead in the NSIC this season in three-point field goals made, averaging 2.6 per game.
Park Prevails
Junior
Addison Park has been steady player for the Dragons to rely on this season. Park has scored in double-digits seven of the last ten games, including a career-high of 21 points at Northern State. The junior is averaging 4.4 rebound per game and also holds a team-best in blocks with 12. Park leads the Dragons in field goal percentage with .606 (77-of-127), also ranking at seventh in the NSIC.
Sophomores Shine
With only one senior on the team this year some younger players stepped up to take a bigger role on the team. The Dragons starting lineup includes sophomores
Johnny Beeninga and
Matt Anderson. Beeninga scored a career-high 26 points in the Dragons win at U-Mary. He is second on the team, averaging 13.9 points per game and adds 37 assists. Anderson is averaging 7.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, including a season-high of nine rebounds at Concordia-St. Paul. He also adds five blocks and two steals.
Double Trouble
Junior guard
Travaun Coad registered back-to-back double-doubles in MSUM's games against Minot State and U-Mary. Coad had 13 points and 11 rebounds vs. Minot State while adding 18 points and 11 rebounds vs. U-Mary. Coad leads the Dragons with three double-doubles this season.
Offensive Distribution
The Dragons have gotten some great offensive distribution this season with four players averaging at least 11.0 points per game.

MSUM will meet Augustana for the 22nd time with the Vikings leading the series, 3-19.
