MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead tennis team will return to Courts Plus in Fargo, N.D., to host the University of Mary Marauders in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference dual. The match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The Dragons are coming off a successful spring break trip to Florida, where they went 4-1, with the lone loss coming to Findlay. They picked up nonconference wins over Ohio Northern, Christian Brothers, Seton Hill and Saint Francis (Ill.).
The Dragons are led by sophomore
Alexis Konecne, who is 10-1 in singles play this season. She is 5-1 in NSIC competition. Senior
Ricquel Ramsbottom is 9-3 in singles play, while sophomore
Alyssa Wolf is 7-5 this season. In doubles play, the pairing of Ramsbottom and sophomore
Emma Zamora leads the team with a 9-2 record. Freshman
Julia Geske and sophomore
Olivia Keelin are not far behind with an 8-4 record.
Head coach
Oliver Summers is in his fifth season as head coach at MSUM.
About the Marauders
The Marauders are 4-6 this season with a 2-4 conference record. Their conference wins have come against St. Cloud State (5-4) and Southwest Minnesota State (5-4). They recently went 2-2 on their spring break trip, with wins over Morningside College and Northwestern College.
