FARGO, N.D. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team lost just three games all day as the Dragons cruised past Minnesota Crookston, 9-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Sunday at Courts Plus in Fargo, N.D.
MSUM improve to 12-2 overall and 8-1 in the NSIC with its sixth straight win while UMC fell to 0-10 overall and 0-9 in the league.
"This victory wrapped up a great weekend for us," MSUM head coach
Oliver Summers said. "When you play a team you are expected to beat you have everything to lose, and everyone handled that pressure well today."
MSUM surrendered only three games on the day, and that came at first doubles, where freshman
Swenne Albert and sophomore
Alexis Konecne teamed up for an 8-3 win over the UMC duo of Reanne Erickson and Whitney Erickson. Sophomores
Alyssa Wolf and
Olivia Keelin cruised to an 8-0 win at No.2 doubles while senior
Ricquel Ramsbottom and sophomore
Emma Zamora picked up an 8-0 win over Hannah Zhao and Karli Renney at No. 3 doubles to compete the Dragon sweep.
The Dragons did not lose a game in singles, as freshman
Julia Geske, Albert, Wolf, Ramsbottom, Konecne and Zamora all rolled to 6-0, 6-0 wins.
MSUM is off until April 7 when it faces Upper Iowa in Winona, Minn.
