MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead softball team opens Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play this weekend with a pair of doubleheaders at the Presentation College Dome in Aberdeen, S.D. MSUM will face Minnesota Crookston beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, and then face Bemidji State at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The Dragons are 7-11 overall. In their last action on March 9 they split to conclude their Florida trip. MSUM went 6-4 on its spring break trip this season, a solid improvement after going 3-7 in 2017.
Sophomore outfielder
Madison Paige leads MSUM with a .411 average and 13 RBI. Freshman pitcher Becky Berth is hitting .348 with two doubles, a triple and four RBI. Freshman first baseman Ashley McCance is hitting .347 with a team-best two homers and seven RBI. Junior
Taylor Roddie is hitting .325 with three doubles while freshman Elizabeth Johnson is hitting .317.
As a team MSUM is hitting .293 with five homers and 76 RBI.
On the mound Becky Berth is 6-4 with a 4.13 ERA in 59.1 innings. She has 38 strikeouts.
Kelsey Fehl is in her eighth season as the MSUM head coach.

Minnesota Crookston is 4-18 overall and 0-0 in the NSIC entering the weekend.
Jenna Boardman is hitting .412 with eight doubles, two triples and nine RBI. Maycee Trujillo is hitting .391 while Mikaela Rodriguez is hitting .347 with two homers and a team-best 15 RBI.
As a team, the Golden Eagles are hitting .284 with four homers and 74 RBI through 22 games.
On the mound Mikayla Jones is 3-3 with a 4.44 ERA in 41 innings. Luisa Silvain is 1-3 with a 2.89 ERA in 36.1 innings.
UMC beat the Dragons, 10-1 in MSUM's season opener at the Minot State Dome tournament in February. That game was a nonconference contest.
