ORLANDO, Fla. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team opened its Florida trip with a 5-4 win over Ohio Northern in action Monday in Orlando, Fla. MSUM has now won three matches in a row.
MSUM is now 7-1 on the season while Ohio Northern fell to 5-2.
"This was definitely a perfect start to our spring break trip, a competitive match that tested us," MSUM head coach
Oliver Summers said. "It was a little unusual that as we played doubles last, but going into that I was confident that we would pull out the win."
The teams split the six singles matches. Ohio Northern won at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 singles. MSUM prevailed at No. 3, as freshman
Swenne Albert beat Kaleigh Cummins, 6-2, 6-1. Sophomore
Alyssa Wolf earned a 6-1, 6-2 win over ONU's Mackenzie Wills at No. 4 singles, while sophomore
Alexis Konecne dominated Jordan Dodson, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
The doubles were played last with MSUM prevailing in two of three matches. Freshman

Olivia Keelin topped Ashley Ochsenhirt and Kaleigh Cummins, 8-4. Ramsbottom and sophomore
Emma Zamora picked up an 8-2 win over Katie Curry and Macey Camacho at No. 3 doubles for MSUM's other doubles win.
The Dragons will play two matches on Tuesday in Orlando vs. Findlay and Christian Brothers.
