FARGO, N.D. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team picked up a 7-0 non conference win over Concordia College in action Friday at Courts Plus in Fargo, N.D.
MSUM improved to 1-0 on the season while Concordia fell to 0-1.
MSUM did not lose a set in singles and allowed only three games in three doubles matches.
"This was the best possible start to the season we could have had," MSUM head coach
Oliver Summers said. "Everyone stayed really focused in their matches and worked out a few first-match nerves. Concordia's team is better than this time last year and at times played some good tennis. We just kept our foot on the gas."

Olivia Keelin teamed up for an 8-0 win over Ivy Mattson and Jenna Forkell at No.1 doubles for MSUM. At No. 2 doubles, freshman
Rachel Nguyen and sophomore
Lorissa Yuen picked up an 8-2 win over Josie Beachy and Lexi Johnson, and the sweep was completed by juniors
Alexis Konecne and
Emma Wood at No. 3, with an 8-1 win over Lisa Neumann and Rachel Saxen.
Geske dominated Forknell for a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles, with Yuen, Nguyen, Konecne, Keelin and freshman
Jalyn Kornblum all winning in straight sets.
MSUM opens NSIC play on Feb. 9 vs. Sioux Falls in Bismarck, N.D.
