ST. PETER, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women tennis team picked up two wins on Saturday in St. Peter, beating Gustavus Adolphus College 6-1 and Southwest Minnesota State 7-0.
MSUM is now 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
"This was a really tight schedule and it helps to have good depth in our squad at these times," MSUM head coach
Oliver Summers said. "I'm really proud of our team, they worked their butts off."
MSUM opened the day with a nonconference win over Gustavus Adolphus College. The Dragons won two of three doubles matches to earn the team point in the match. Sophomore

Olivia Keelin teamed up for a 6-2 win over the GAC tandem of Rachel Lindrud and Haley Trebil at No. 1 doubles while juniors
Alexis Konecne and
Emma Wood beat Josie Carlson and Ally Thorsen 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Geske dominated Thorsen 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles while sophomore
Lorissa Yuen beat Lindrud, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Freshman
Rachel Nguyen won at No. 3 singles, beating Sydney Douglas, 6-0, 6-0. Konecne beat Trebil, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles while Keelin beat Kjorte Harra, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
The Dragons finished the long day with a 7-0 win over SMSU. The doubles team point went to MSUM. Keelin and Geske beat Paige Janka and Daniel Flores, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles while Yuen/Nguyen won at No. 2 doubles over Hannah Starke and Cora Delich, 6-4. Konecne and Wood teamed up for a 6-3 win over Olivia Watzke and Gabby Potthoff at No. 3 for MSUM.
The Dragons won all but one singles matches in straight sets. Geske beat Delich, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles while Nguyen beat Watzke, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3. Konecne beat Starke, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles while Keelin cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win over Hanna Himmelman in the fifth slot. Freshman
Emma Andersen beat Janka, 7-6, 6-3 at No. 6 singles. Yuen outlasted Flores, 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 to win at No. 2 singles.
MSUM has a quick turnaround as the Dragons play Minnesota State at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
