                     MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team opens Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play this week. MSUM will face Sioux Falls at 1 p.m. on Saturday, and then face Augustana at 9 a.m. on Sunday. Both matches will be at Capital Racquet and Fitness Center Bismarck, N.D.
MSUM opened the season with a 7-0 win over Concordia-Moorhead on Feb. 1. The Dragons lost just three games in doubles and eight games in singles on the day.  Juniors

Alexis Konecne, sophomores 
Julia Geske and 
Lorissa Yuen and freshman 
Rachel Nguyen went unbeaten in both doubles and singles on the day.  MSUM was picked to finish second in the NSIC preseason coaches poll. 
Oliver Summers is in his seventh season as the MSUM head coach.
USF finished 11-7 overall and 7-4 in the NSIC a year ago. The Dragons beat USF in the conference tournament last season 5-1. Sophomore Chloe Jefferies went 14-3 at singles last season, including 10-1 in conference matches. Lexi Miller was 9-8. In doubles Jefferies went 11-7 while sophomore Rachel Klatt was 11-6. Kevin Grebin is in his 20th season as the USF head coach.
Augustana, which has won nine straight NSIC regular-season titles, is off to a 2-0 start on the season.  The Vikings beat Nebraska-Kearney, 7-0 and Rockhurst (Mo.), 6-1 last weekend. Grace Goble, Taylor Jackson, Kornelia Staniszewska, Annika Teske and Laura Are Vieryra all went 2-0 in singles. The Vikings also went 5-1 in doubles. Staniszewska is a three-time NSIC Player of the Year.  Marc Kurtz is in his 14th season as the Augustana coach.
