MOORHEAD, Minn. – The second-seeded Minnesota State University Moorhead tennis team will face seventh-seeded Bemidji State in the opening round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Lifetime Fitness in Minnetonka, Minn.
The two-day tournament will continue with the semifinals and championship match on Sunday. MSUM has qualified for the conference tournament in six-straight years.
MSUM defeated Bemidji State 4-1 when the teams faced on Feb. 22.
The Dragons wrapped up the regular-season on March 29-30 when they downed St. Cloud State 6-1 and Minnesota Duluth 4-0. MSUM is currently riding a four-match win streak.
The Dragons finished the regular-season second in the NSIC standings with an overall record of 14-3 and a conference record of 10-1. The lone loss for MSUM came to Augustana, who won the conference title and has won 110 straight NSIC matches.
The Dragons have three players who have double-digit wins in singles with sophomore
Julia Geske's 12-4 mark at No. 1 leading the way. Sophomore
Lorissa Yuen is 11-2 at No. 2 while freshman
Rachel Nguyen in 10-2 at No. 3. As a team, the Dragons hold a 72-25 record in singles this season.

Olivia Keelin have teamed up for a 14-3 record at No. 1 doubles. Nguyen and Yuen are 8-6 at No. 2 while juniors

Alexis Konecne sit at 9-3 at No. 3. MSUM is 38-13 in doubles this season.

Oliver Summers is in his sixth season as head coach at MSUM.

The Beavers are 11-6 overall and 6-5 in the NSIC. They split their final NSIC matches with a 6-1 loss to Winona State and a 5-2 win over Upper Iowa. Senior Zoe Lindgren is 6-7 at No. 1 singles. Ariadna Lopez has a 7-4 record at No. 2 while Hannah Alme is 7-3 at No. 3. The Beavers are 51-32 in singles matches this season. The duo of Lindgren and Lopez are 6-5 at No. 1 doubles. Brooke Mimmack and Breann Walsh have a 6-6 record at No. 2. The team is 24-20 in doubles matches this season.
