MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead softball team continues action at home this week with a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheaders. MSUM hosts Wayne State at 1 p.m. on Friday and wraps up the week with a doubleheader vs. Augustana beginning at noon on Saturday.
MSUM's two seniors,
Taylor Roddie and
Lexie Kennedy, will be honored between games during Saturday's twinbill with Augustana.
The Dragons are 12-25 overall and 6-14 in the NSIC after splitting with UMary on Tuesday.
Junior
Payton Gaber leads MSUM with a .336 average along with 10 RBI while sophomore
Elizabeth Johnson is hitting .326 with 10 RBI. Sophomore
Ashley McCance is hitting .317 with a homer and 13 RBI while junior
Emma Dummer is hitting .311 with six homers and 23 RBI. As a team the Dragons are hitting 282 with 19 homers and 143 RBI.
On the mound sophomore
Becky Berth is 9-15 with a 3.25 ERA in 178.2 innings. She has one shutout and 16 complete games.
Amanda Reckamp is in her first season as the MSUM head coach.
Wayne State
Wayne State is 10-27 overall and 1-19 in the NSIC. The Wildcats were swept by Southwest Minnesota State on Tuesday. Taylor Menard is hitting .338 for the Wildcats while Emily Chandler is hitting .323 with team bests of seven homers and 29 RBI. As a team WSC is hitting .276 with 16 homers and 121 RBI in 37 games. On the mound Makenna Adkison is 6-11 with a 4.77 ERA in 102.2 innings; she has two shutouts and six complete games. Shelli Manson is in her fifth season as the WSC head coach with a record of 98-142.
Augustana
The No. 17 Vikings are 38-7 overall and 18-2 in the NSIC. The Vikings have won six in a row, including a sweep of Sioux Falls on Tuesday by scores of 4-2 and 12-4. Maggie Kadrlik is hitting .386 with 14 doubles, six homers and 41 RBI while Kendall Cornick is hitting .374 with five homers and 24 RBI. Mary Pardo and Shannon Petersen are each hitting .372. As a team the Vikings are hitting .347 with 48 homers and 299 RBI in 45 games. On the mound Ashley Mickschl is 18-4 with a 1.91 ERA while Amber Elliott is 13-3 with a 1.97 ERA. Gretta Melstad is in her 13th season as the Augie head coach with a record of 505-212 at the school.

Emma's Emergence
Junior
Emma Dummer is having a big year for the Dragons. She leads the team with six homers and 13 doubles and shares the team lead with 23 RBI, all career single-season bests. She has a .566 slugging percentage this season. Her 13 doubles are just three away from the single-season record of 16 led by
Madison Paige. Dummer leads with 11 multi-hit games and is second on the team with six multi-RBI games.
Payton's Place
Junior
Payton Gaber leads MSUM with a .336 average. She has eight doubles, a triple and 10 RBI and has a hit in 25 of the Dragons' 37 games. Gaber is tied for second with 10 multi-hit games this season.
