GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Led by two wins from sophomore
Shyrone Kemp, the Minnesota State University Moorhead picked up six victories at the UND Open which was held Friday in Grand Forks, N.D.
Kemp won the long jump in 22-11, which is second-best in the NSIC this season, while senior
Jonas Matzen was third in 21-10 3/4. Kemp added a win in the triple jump with a mark of 47-6 1/4 with junior
Tyler Berby taking fourth at 42-11 3/4.
Junior
Chris Cook won the men's high jump with a season-best effort of 6-11 which is tied for second-best in the NSIC this season and sixth-best in the nation.
Sophomore
Ty Dawkins won the 60-meter dash in 6.98 which tied a season-best with
Shaquiel Higgs taking third in 7.20. Dawkins added runner-up finish in the 200 in 22.28 which is the third-best time in the NSIC this season.
Junior
Anna St. Catherine won the women's pole vault at 11-11 3/4 which is second-best in the NSIC and an NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
Freshman
Kendrick Major won the 600 in 1:26.84. Junior
Clay Jackson was third in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.55. Freshman
Connor Lehr was second in the 400 in 50.89 which is seventh-best in the NSIC this season and a personal-best.
Freshman
Anna Steadland was third in the 60-meter dash in 7.83 and fourth in the 200 in 25.88. Sophomore
Caitlin Pritchett was fifth in the high jump at 5-2 1/4 while
Tessa Schroeder was fifth in the triple jump in 35-5.
MSUM will send its entire team to the Bison Open which is Friday and Saturday in Fargo, N.D.
