MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team travels west to Bismarck, N.D., this weekend for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matches. The Dragons will face Bemidji State at 5 p.m. on Saturday and then face Minnesota Crookston at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The matches will be held at Capital Racquet and Fitness Center in Bismarck.
MSUM is 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the NSIC after recording 7-0 home wins over Minnesota State, Mankato and Southwest Minnesota State last weekend.
Junior
Lorissa Yuen and sophomore
Rachel Nguyen are each 3-0 in singles so far for MSUM while junior
Julia Geske and sophomores
Emma Andersen and
Stevi Parker are 2-0 each. MSUM is 18-0 in singles this season and hasn't lost a set.
Seniors
Alexis Konecne and
Emma Wood are 3-0 to lead the doubles teams. MSUM is 9-0 in doubles so far on the year.
Oliver Summers is in his eighth season as the MSUM head coach with a record of 75-55 at the school.
About Bemidji State
Bemidji State is 2-2 overall and in the NSIC after losing to Augustana, 7-0 and Sioux Falls, 6-1 last weekend. Maggie Richardson, Laney Rutkowski and Hannah Alme are each 2-2. Kyle Fodness is in his first season as the Bemidji State head coach.
About Minnesota Crookston
The Golden Eagles are 0-3 overall and in the NSIC after losing to Augustana and Sioux Falls last weekend. They do not have a senior on the roster and have four freshmen. Krayton Nash is in his third season as the UMC head coach.
