WINONA, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team remained unbeaten on the year with a 6-1 win over Upper Iowa in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Saturday in Winona, Minn.
MSUM is now 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the NSIC while Upper Iowa fell to 1-4 overall and in the league.
The Dragons won the team doubles point with victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 slots. Senior

Julia Geske beat Deimante Krivickaite and Alejandra Abella, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles for MSUM while seniors
Emma Wood and
Alexis Konecne picked up a 6-3 win over Varvara Ogorodnikova and Mya Herrmann at No. 2. Upper Iowa forfeited at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, Geske outlasted Krivickaite, 4-6, 6-1, 10-6 (super tiebreak) at No. 1 singles. Sophomore
Rachel Nguyen beat Abella, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 while Konecne beat Herrmann 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4. The Dragons won by forfeit at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
MSUM faces Winona State at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday in Winona.
"We were definitely tested near the top of the lineup today which was great, and just what we needed," MSUM head coach
Oliver Summers said. "We're ready to give it all we've got on Sunday. Winona is always tough at home, one could easily say that we are the underdogs going into this match. It should be fun."
