MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team will face a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference foes this weekend in Bismarck, N.D. MSUM will face St. Cloud State at 5 p.m. on Saturday and conclude the weekend against Minnesota Duluth at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
The Dragons are tied for first in the NSIC with Augustana heading into the weekend.
Junior
Julia Geske leads MSUM with a 6-0 singles mark while junior
Lorissa Yuen is at 6-1 and sophomore
Rachel Nguyen is at 5-1. As a team, MSUM is 37-5 in singles play this season, which is an 88.1 winning percentage.
In doubles, Geske and senior
Olivia Keelin are 5-0 at No. 1 doubles. Keelin is 7-0 overall in doubles. Seniors
Alexis Konecne and
Emma Wood are 6-1 in doubles. The Dragons are 20-1 (95.2 percent) in doubles this season.
Oliver Summers is in his eighth season as the MSUM head coach.
About St. Cloud State
The Huskies are 2-4 overall and in the NSIC. Jill Kedrowski leads SCSU with a 4-2 singles record while Claire Olson has a 3-3 mark. Kendrowski and Mirei Ichida are 3-0 in doubles. Berit Merrill is in her second season as the SCSU head coach.
About Minnesota Duluth
The Bulldogs are 6-2 overall and 4-2 in the NSIC. They split on the road last weekend, beating Sioux Falls 5-2 before losing to Augustana 7-0. Mallory Lithun and Isabel Thiner are each 5-2 in singles. In doubles, Natalie Cahill and Sophie Lynch are 5-3 as are Megan Anderson and Thiner. Jessica Worden is in her fifth year as the UMD head coach.
