Nadif Yusuf won the 3K on Saturday.

Kemp picked up his first NSIC championship of his career with a victory in the triple jump. His winning jump was 49-2 1/4. He also earned All-NSIC honors in the high jump, taking third with an NCAA provisional jump of 6-10 1/4. Kemp is in strong position for a spot at nationals as he is ranked eighth in the triple jump at 49-9 1/4. For the weekend Kemp earned All-NSIC honors in the long jump, triple jump and high jump events.

Yusuf won the NSIC title in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:32.71. Yusuf took the lead about 2/3 of the way through the race and opened up a little breathing room to pick up his second NSIC track championship of his career. He won the 5K outdoors in 2019. The Willmar graduate was also All-NSIC in the 5,000 meters on Friday, giving him four honors for his track career so far.  Yusuf will await to see if he has earned a trip to nationals; he is ranked 21st in the 5,000 meters.

Junior Chris Cook was second in the high jump to pick up All-NSIC honors in that event. His jump was 6-10 1/4. Cook is expected to receive a spot at nationals as he is ranked tied for fourth nationally in the event with a school record of 7-0 1/2 he jumped at the Bison Open.

Senior Jonas Matzen was third in the men's heptathlon at 4,981 points to earn All-NSIC honors in that event.  He is ranked 20th in the nation with a score of 5,030 points and also is on the bubble for nationals.

Junior Nick Marshall was fifth in the mile in 4:19.27. Senior Zach Sweep finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.47 while junior Clay Jackson was seventh in 8.61. Sophomore Ty Dawkins was sixth in the 400 in 50.83.

MSUM's women's 4x400 relay team was eighth in 4:03.78. That consisted of sophomore Anna Steadland, freshman Jordan Wurth, senior Summer Storm and freshman McKenzie Maki.

National qualifiers will be announced on Tuesday by the NCAA.
