Schumacher Earns All-NSIC Honors in High Jump

MANKATO, Minn. — Senior Rachel Schumacher's runner-up finish in the high jump led the way for the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's track and field team at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Championships which concluded Saturday at Myers Fieldhouse in Mankato, Minn.

MSUM finished with 21 points at the meet, which was won by Minnesota State-Mankato. The Dragon men finished third during Friday's competition.

Schumacher finished second in the high jump with a jump of 5-5 3/4. She now has four All-NSIC honors in the high jump in her colleigate career with three coming at Minnesota State Mankato prior to her transferring to MSUM. 8

Junior Sophia Sowada had a good showing in the pentathlon, taking fourth with a score of 3,300 points.  She had the best time in the pentathlon 800 and was second in the pentathlon high jump at 5-4 3/4. 

Freshman Payton Lane was sixth in the 5,000-meter run in 18:02.67.  Freshman Robynn Curry was seventh in the 400 in 58.12. 

MSUM's 4x400 relay finished sixth in 4:02.85. That consisted of junior Anna Steadland, Curry, Sowada and sophomore McKenzie Maki
