MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead softball team hits the road this week for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheaders. MSUM will face No. 15 Winona State at 1 p.m. on Friday and conclude the week with a doubleheader at Upper Iowa at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
The Dragons are 3-13 overall and 1-1 in the NSIC after splitting with Northern State on Monday. The Dragons won the opener 4-0 and saw a rally fall short in Game 2, 8-5. In the opening win freshman Reece Dahl fired a 5-hit shutout.
Junior Emma Dummer is hitting .306 with a team-best 10 RBI for MSUM. She is one double away from tying MSUM's all-time record of 33 that is held by Leah Davis.
Junior Shay Weber is hitting .300 and leads the team with a .404 on-base percentage. Freshman Miah Hartvigsen is hitting .277 with three doubles and six RBI.
Dahl is 2-5 with a 5.66 ERA in 47 innings on the mound.
Amanda Reckamp is in her third season as the MSUM head coach.

Winona State, ranked No. 15 in the nation, is 13-2 after sweeping Upper Iowa on Tuesday. Katie Kolb is hitting .432 with a homer and 11 RBI. Marissa Allen is hitting .368 with two homers and nine RBI. Libby Neveau hit .333 with five homers and 23 RBI. Jordan Kleman is 9-0 with a 1.14 ERA on the mount. She has 63 strikeouts. Greg Jones is in his 20th season as the Winona State head coach.

Upper Iowa, which faces Northern State on Friday prior to facing MSUM, is 4-11 overall and 0-2 in the league after dropping two games to Winona State on Tuesday. Kaylee Frenette is hitting .348 with five RBI for the Peacocks while Katie Crogan is hitting .311 with three homers and eight RBI. On the mound Abby McKay is 3-4 with a 4.62 ERA. Ashley Hickman is in her second season as the Upper Iowa head coach.
