MOORHEAD, Minn. — After completing a nine-game homestead, the Minnesota State University Moorhead softball team is on the road for three doubleheaders this week. MSUM will play at UMary on Wednesday and then play at No. 1 Augustana on Saturday and Wayne State on Sunday.
MSUM is 7-22 overall and 5-10 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
Senior Emma Dummer became MSUM's all-time leader in doubles during the Bemidji State/UMC weekend. She now has 35, breaking the previous mark of 33.
Dummer leads MSUM with a .329 average; she has seven doubles and a team-best 12 RBI. Freshman infielder Miah Hartvigsen is hitting .295 with 10 RBI. MSUM is hitting .238 as a team.
Junior Anna Lang is 3-11 with a 5.59 ERA on the mound while freshman Reece Dahl is 4-10 with a 7.16 ERA. She has two shutouts.
Amanda Reckamp is in her third season as the MSUM head coach.
About UMary
UMary is 4-23 overall and 3-11 in the NSIC. The Marauders were swept by No. 1 Augustana in their last action on Sunday. Mariah Sanchez is hitting .329 for UMary while Eryn deJonge is hitting .329 with 10 RBI. As a team the Marauders are hitting .249. On the mound Alissa Alvarado is 2-7 with a 7.17 ERA. Steph Roan is in her third season as the UMary head coach.
About No. 1 Augustana
No. 1 Augustana (27-3, 15-1 NSIC) enters the week on an 11-game winning streak. The Vikings swept UMary in their last action on Sunday and will face Sioux Falls prior to facing MSUM. Kendall Cornick is hitting .484 with four homers and 13 doubles while Mary Pardo is hitting .356 with 13 homers and 32 RBI. As a team the Vikings are hitting .330 with 41 home runs. Amber Elliott is 14-1 on the mound with a 2.12 ERA in 89.1 innings. Gretta Melsted is in her 15th season as the Augustana head coach.
About Wayne State
Wayne State is 4-24 overall and 1-15 in the NSIC. The Wildcats will face Southwest Minnesota State and Northern State prior to facing MSUM. Kim Vidlak is hitting .383 with 12 RBI for the Wildcats while Kortney Buresh is hitting .350. The Wildcats are hitting .286 as a team. On the mound Hadley Chvatal is 3-5 with a 5.49 ERA. Shelli Manson is in her seventh season as the Wayne State head coach.
