MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead softball team opens a season-long 10-game homestand this week with three doubleheaders. The Dragons open the week by hosting Minot State on Wednesday (2 p.m.) and follow by hosting Minnesota Crookston on Saturday and Bemidji State on Sunday.
MSUM is 4-16 overall and 2-4 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Dragons were swept by No. 15 Winona State on Friday and split with Upper Iowa on Saturday.
The Dragons are hitting .251 as a team and are led by freshman shortstop Miah Hartvigsen, who is hitting .353 with two doubles and six RBI. Senior third baseman Emma Dummer is hitting .321 with four doubles and a team-best 11 RBI while junior outfielder Shay Weber is hitting .320 with a triple. Junior infielder Samantha Gjerde is hitting .305 with three doubles and five RBI.
Dummer is one double away from tying MSUM's all-time record of 33 that is held by Leah Davis.
On the mound junior Anna Lang and freshman Reece Dahl each have two wins. Dahl fired her first collegiate shutout in a 4-0 win over Northern State on March 29.
Amanda Reckamp is in her third season as the MSUM head coach.

About Minot State
Minot State is 10-10 overall and 3-3 in the NSIC. The Beavers were swept by Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday in their last action. Jamie Odlum leads Minot State with a .491 average while Isis Cabral is hitting .474 with two homers and 14 RBI. On the mound Trinity Valentine is 5-3 with a 3.78 ERA in 47.2 innings. Nat Wagner is in his second season as the Minot head coach.
About Minnesota Crookston
The Golden Eagle are 5-15 overall and 1-5 in the NSIC. They will face Minnesota Duluth prior to facing MSUM. On the mound Katie Humhej is 3-6 with a 2.89 ERA in 55.2 innings. Dana Zarn is hitting .361 with three doubles and eight RBI. Leah Macias is hitting .357 with two doubles. Travis Owen is in his second season as the UMC head coach.
About Bemidji State
Bemidji State, which faces St. Cloud State and Northern State prior to facing MSUM, is 7-13 overall and 3-3 in the NSIC. The Beavers swept Sioux Falls in their last action on Saturday. Lisa Kossan is hitting .351 with four doubles and nine RBI while Emmarrie Yeager is hitting .326 with two homers and seven RBI. Stephi Dullum is 5-1 with a 2.50 ERA to lead the Bemidji pitching staff. Brittany Gomez-Olson is in her third season as the Bemidji State head coach.
