Box Score ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead softball team fell to No. 9-ranked Grand Valley State, 11-2 in five innings in nonconference action Thursday at the Rosemont Dome Tournament in Illinois.
MSUM fell to 1-4 on the year while Grand Valley State improved to 1-0.
Senior first baseman
Jordey Smith was 2-for-3 with a double for MSUM. Freshman right fielder
Avery Steffen was 1-for-2 with a double and run scored while freshman second baseman
Eliyah McCarthy scored a run.
Senior
Anna Lang gave up six runs, five earned, in 0.2 innings of work. She struck out one and walked one. Freshman
Emma Abbott pitched 1.1 innings and allowed three runs, all unearned. Sophomore
Reece Dahl pitched the final 2.0 innings and allowed two runs.
MSUM will play Wayne State (Mich.) at 3:30 p.m. on Friday in Rosemont.
