MOORHEAD -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead softball team will host Minnesota Duluth on Wednesday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Scheels Field. The Dragons will then go to Concordia St. Paul on Saturday at 1 p.m. doubleheader before facing No. 18 Minnesota State Mankato on Sunday at 12 and 2 p.m.
 
The Dragons are 6-26 on the season and 3-13 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference after falling twice to No. 13 ranked Augustana and splitting with Wayne State last week. Freshman Avery Steffen holds the best batting average on the team at .260, followed closely by freshman Annika Norman with a batting average of .258. Steffen also has the team-high home runs (two) and RBI with 16 while senior outfielder Jordey Smith has a team-best nine doubles.
 
Senior Anna Lang has three wins on the mound while Steffen has two. Lang leads with 29 strikeouts.
 
Mike Armitage is in his first season as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead.  
 
About Minnesota Duluth  
The Bulldogs are 27-12 on the season and 12-6 in the NSIC after defeating Bemidji State twice, splitting 1-1 with Winona State University, and splitting 1-1 with Upper Iowa University last week. Fifth-Year Jordyn Thomas leads the best batting average on the team at .363. Jordyn Thomas also leads the Bulldogs in RBIs with 34. Lynn Anderson is in her first season as head coach at Minnesota Duluth. 
 
About Concordia St. Paul  
The Golden Gophers are 25-10-1 on the season and 8-8 in the NSIC after splitting 1-1 with Bemidji State University and splitting 1-1 with Minnesota Crookston. Senior Amanda Parsons has the best batting average for the Golden Gophers at .434. Sophomore Clara Heislen has the team-high for home runs at 10. Freshman Sydney Pelzer leads the team in RBIs with 28. Bob Bartel is in his 18th season as head coach at Concordia-St. Paul.  
 
About Minnesota State Mankato 
The No. 18 Mavericks are 32-10 on the season and 14-4 in the NSIC after defeating Upper Iowa twice, defeating Minnesota Crookston twice, and defeating Bemidji State University twice last week. Sophomore Ellie Tallman holds the best batting average for the Mavericks at .417. Sophomore Madi Newman leads the team in RBIs with 32. Lori Meyer is in her 38th season as head coach at Minnesota State Mankato.
