BROOKINGS, S.D. --
Robynn Rolle-Curry and
Braxton Bruer set new MSUM school records as the Dragons had a phenomenal day at the SDSU D2 Invite.
Rolle-Curry broke the indoor school 400m record she set last week at the Mike Thorson Open, running a 55.45 in the event today, which is the fifth best time in Division II this season. The mark she set last week was 56.18. Bruer broke his own school record (set last season) in the indoor 800m. The West Fargo product ran a 1:51.87 which broke his previous mark of 1:52.76.
The meet marks the third consecutive time where an MSUM school record has been broken.
The Dragon men finished fourth as a team at the meet with 62 team points. MSUM's women's team, who only had two competitors today in Brookings, finished 11th with 20 team points.
Sprints
Â
The highlight in the sprints comes thanks to
Robynn Rolle-Curry, who dominated the 400m run today. Rolle-Curry bested her own school record of 56.18, by running a blazing 55.45. The run became a new SDSU D2 Invite record with Rolle-Curry winning the event by nearly two seconds. It is the second consecutive week that Rolle-Curry has broken an MSUM school record.Â
The Dragons placed three competitiors in the top five of the men's 400m run.
Ibrahim Oduong placed second with a time of 48.57, the third best time in school history.
Thomas Kern and
Kendrick Major finished third and fifth respectively. Kern came in just behind Oduong with a time of 48.58 with Major running a 49.76.Â
Elliott MacLennan finished third in the men's 200m with a time of 22.21.Â

Relays
Â
The men's 4x400m relay team of
Ibrahim Oduong,
Kendrick Major,
Elliott MacLennan and
Thomas Kern won the event with a time of 3:16.53. That mark is the fourth best in school history. The team won the event by over two seconds.Â
Â
Jumps/Vaults
Â
Ashley Hokanson continued to her great season by winning the pole vault with a vault of 13'-02.25". Hokanson attempted to break her own school record, but fell short on all three attempts. The vault was a new SDSU D2 Invite record and was Hokanson's second event win of the season.Â
Shyrone Kemp won the triple jump with his best leap at 48'-11", winning the event running away. The next highest finisher had a top jump of 43'-04.25" with Kemp adding another triple jump win to his already stacked résumé.
Â
Middle Distance/Distance
Â
The Dragons took the top two spots in the men's 800m with
Braxton Bruer's school record time of 1:51.87. Bruer's run was also an SDSU D2 Invite record.
Jared Gregoire placed second right behind Bruer with a time of 1:51.92, which would have been a new school record if not for Bruer's performance. Gregoire now owns the second best indoor 800m time in MSUM history.Â
