Trio of Duals on Deck for Dragon Wrestling

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead wrestling will take to the road this weekend for a trio of duals against nationally-ranked competition. The Dragons take on 17th-ranked Augustana and 12th-ranked Upper Iowa on Saturday before scrapping against 24th-ranked Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday. 

Live video and results will be available at msumdragons.com. Action on Saturday begins at 2 p.m. against the Vikings followed by the dual with the Peacocks at 4 p.m. MSUM and SMSU will dual at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The Dragons last competed on January 11 in a home dual loss to 18th-ranked Northern State. MSUM dropped the dual 31-6, but were able to gain victories from Cody Wienen (157 pounds) and Jacob Reinardy (165 pounds). Both redshirt freshmen are near the top of MSUM's leaderboard in wins in 2023-24, with Wienen picking up his 13th win last Thursday and Reinardy his 12th. Redshirt freshman 197-pounder Isaiah Huus leads the Dragons with 18 wins this season including eight pinfalls. 

Three other Dragons have picked up 10 or more wins so far this season, led by true freshman Anthony Sykora, who has 13 wins with seven pins and two tech falls. Will Price also has 13 wins on his ledger this season as Hunter Heim has earned 10 wins this season with three tech falls.
