MOORHEAD, Minn. --
Ruth Pavelski set a new pool record inside The Concordia Pool on Friday evening as MSU Moorhead swimming & diving picked up a convincing 189-44 dual win over the Cobbers.
The Dragons won all but one event throughout the entire dual.
To begin the dual, the 200-yard medley relay team of
Lacie Stark,
Cami Mayo,
Linnea Edgren and
Joanna Phillips would collect a win with a time of 1:54.94. The team of
Kelsey Jackson,
Iris Diaz,
Ruth Pavelski and
Sophia Verke would place runner-up with a mark of 1:57.08. To conclude the dual, MSUM also commanded the 200-yard freestyle relay as the squad of
Demi-Lee Carlisle,
Taylor Cook,
Lily Lengerich and
Maggie Moore would clock a 1:43.41 to win the event. The Dragons also had the runner-up team in Pavelksi, Verke,
Arina Bratamidjaja and
Delaney Varney, who clocked a collective 1:46.62.
Bratamidjaja would win the 1000-yard freestyle, owning the event with a time of 11:47.79, winning by nearly 19 full seconds. In the 200-yard freestyle, Moore would collect an event win with a mark of 2:05.25, followed by Jackson with a time of 2:12.06. The freshman Moore would also win the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.01. Edgren placed second in the race, touching the wall with a mark of 58.13. MSUM would also take the top two spots in the 50-yard freestyle with Lengerich (26.33) and
Lacie Stark (26.73) finishing first and second respectively.
Pavelski would then go on to set a new Concordia Pool record in the 200-yard IM. The true freshman registered a time of 2:16.12 to claim the record and an event win.
Cami Mayo finished runner-up in the race with a time of 2:19.68. Mayo would win an all-MSUM led 100-yard fly as the freshman won with a mark of 1:01.34 followed by Verke (1:02.21) and Varney (1:06.43).
Stark and Carlisle would own the 100-yard backstroke event as Stark swam a 1:01.40 to win with Carlisle finishing just behind her at 1:01.65.
Taylor Cook would win the 500-yard freestyle for the Dragons with a mark of 5:42.27. In diving,
Zoe Bjerke would win 1M with an overall score of 219.90 followed closely by
Isabelle Johnson (215.05).

The Dragons will turn right around and compete again tomorrow at a pair of meets. MSUM's divers will compete at the St. Cloud State Diving Invite tomorrow at 11 a.m. The Dragon swimmers will dual Minnesota State beginning at 2 p.m. in Mankato.
