ABERDEEN, S.D. -- MSU Moorhead sophomore sprinter
Shavantae Roberts reset her own outdoor 100m school record to highlight the Dragon efforts at the Dewey Donat Classic on Sunday.
Sprints/Hurdles/Relays
Shavantae Roberts would highlight the day for MSUM, finishing runner up in the women's 100m with a time of 11.71. The mark becomes a new school record, besting the time Roberts set at the USD Early Bird on April 6 (11.75). The NCAA provisional mark is currently the fifth-fastest 100m dash in the Northern Sun this season.
In the men's 400m,
Jerome Crayton would run a 48.83 to finish fourth overall while
Elliott MacLennan would come in right behind Crayton with a time of 48.92. The time for Crayton becomes a new personal best for the senior. On the women's side, Brooke Bauman would register a new personal best of 1:01.83 to finish fourth.
David Daniels would place eighth in the men's 100m dash with a time of 11.04.
Elkan Johnson would finish 10th overall in the 200m with a mark of 24.10.
Mickalyn Babcock would finish third overall in the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 15.17. Babcock would also finish runner-up in the 200m with a time of 26.72.
The Dragon 4x100m team of Daniels, Crayton, MacLennan and
Ibrahim Oduong would finish runner-up with a time of 42.44. The women's team of
Desiree Loyd,
McKenna Schreiber, Babcock and Roberts would also finish second with a mark of 49.58.
Jumps/Vaults
Tyler Missick would win men's high jump with a top clearance of 6-07 (2.01m) as he was the lone competitor to clear over 2m. Missick's mark also matches his outdoor personal best at MSUM.
Desiree Loyd would finish eighth in women's high jump with a leap of 5-00.25 (1.53m).
David Daniels would finish runner-up in men's long jump with a top mark of 22-03.75 (6.80m) while
Kade Larson placed in a tie for seventh with a jump of 19-07 (5.97m). Larson would also finish fourth in men's triple jump with a 40-10.50 (12.46m) jump.
McKenna Schreiber would finish third in long jump on the women's side, marking a 17-04.25 (5.29m), which matches her personal best. Schreiber would also finish third in triple jump with a personal best of 35-06 (10.82m). The mark is now the 10th-best triple jump in MSUM history.
Nicholas Huss would place fifth in men's pole vault with a clearance of 12-06 (3.81m). On the women's side,
Sydney Bahls would place third, clearing 10-03.25 (3.13m) while
Leya Teicher (2.78m) and
Katelyn Utecht (2.78m) would finish in fifth and seventh place respectively (based on number of failed clearances).
Throws
Kiley Kranz would leadoff the MSUM efforts in throws, placing sixth in women's shot put with a toss of 39-02.25 (11.94m).
Sam Azure would set a new personal best in the same event with a throw of 5-03.75 (10.76m). Azure would also match her personal best in javelin, throwing a 105-11 (32.29m) to finish 10th. In men's javelin,
Isaac Friese would finish ninth overall with a throw of 159 (48.47m) while teammate
Ty Ogren would finish just behind him with a top mark of 155-07 (47.42m).
Distance
Grace Dorsher would win the women's 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:19.44 in her first time ever running the event. It is now the 10th-fastest 3000m steeple time in MSUM history.
Colin O'Farrell would keep the winning tendencies for MSUM, taking home a win in the 1500m run with a winning time of 3:57.74, a new personal best.
James Dorado (4:04.02),
Joel Brault (4:08.43) and
Brett Kurschner (4:08.48) would finish fifth, sixth and seventh in the same event with Kurschner's time being a new personal record.
Abbie Christen would also run a personal best in the same event on the women's side, marking a 4:55.98 to finish fourth overall.
O'Farrell would also run in the 800m later in the day, clocking a 1:57.94 to finish sixth overall.
Will Massmann would register a new personal best in the same event with a time of 2:05.70.

MSUM has a busy week ahead as they have three meets on the docket, beginning with the Viking Twilight in Valley City, N.D., on Tuesday. The Dragons will also be competing at the annual Drake Relays and the MSUM-hosted Ron Masanz Classic later in the week.
