SMITHVILLE, Mo. – MSU Moorhead golf saw improved scores from
Halle Balluff,
Charmaine Haas and
Regan Braun on day two of the NSIC Golf Championships.
On day two, MSUM shot a collective 374, moving their two-day total to 743 through 36 holes of play. The Dragons sit in 12
th place as a team with 18 holes left at Paradise Pointe Outlaw Course.
Balluff led the Dragons again on the second day, improving on her day one score by two strokes to shoot an 86. The sophomore was strong again on Saturday, penciling in seven pars in her round, including even scores on three par-three holes and the par-five fifth hole spanning 480 yards. Balluff collected her first birdie of the tournament on the par-four 13
th hole at Paradise Pointe, which stretched 411 yards.
Haas lowered her score by five strokes to shoot a 94 overall on day two. The senior was consistent all afternoon, holing a pair of pars including one on the par-five 11
th hole. Braun would improve by a stroke on Saturday, shooting a 98 with a par on the short par-four fourth hole, which spanned 296 yards.
Ellie Fischer would tally a second-round 96 for the Dragons in a round that featured four pars for the senior. Fischer had impressive even counts on a pair of par-threes as well as the par-four 15
th hole which featured a yardage of 374. Rounding out the MSUM competitors was
Erin Summerbell, who would shoot a 100 in round two with three pars. Summerbell earned a par on the par-five 11
th hole to highlight her round.
The NSIC Golf Championships wrap up tomorrow morning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Any and all updates on the tournament's progress will be relayed as information becomes available.
