Dragon Golf Records 36-Hole Day in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Minnesota State Moorhead golf turned in a hard-fought day of competition at the Augie Spring Invite on Monday. The Dragons played 36 holes on the day, finishing 10th as a team with a score of 709.

Through the first 18 holes, MSUM was led by senior Halle Balluff, who shot an 84 overall. Balluff's round included six pars and a birdie on the par five 18th hole which spanned 468 yards. Freshman Adi Houkom was right behind Balluff on the leaderboard, shooting an 86 through 18 holes. Houkom had six even holes including a string of three straight pars on the sixth, seventh and eighth holes. 

Regan Braun would shoot a 91 in her first round behind five pars, including even counts on a pair of par-five holes. Karlee Luneckas would round out the Dragon scoring through the first 18 holes, shooting a 93 overall. Luneckas had three pars in the first round as MSUM shot a 354 overall. Aspen Beyer would finish one shot back of Luneckas in the first round, carding a 94. Kamryn Wesloh would shoot a 99 with a pair of pars through 18 holes. 

In the final 18 holes, Moorhead would shoot a 355 to conclude the tournament with a 709 cumulative score. Balluff improved by one stroke in her second round of the day, shooting an 83. The senior was consistent with eight pars throughout her round. Houkom would pencil in an 87 overall, holing six pars. 

Beyer would enter the scoring in round two, improving by three strokes for a 91 overall. The sophomore would have six even holes in her round. Luneckas would wrap the scoring contingent again, carding a 94 with five pars. 

Braun would also shoot a 94 in round two with three pars and a birdie. The junior earned one-under marks on the par-five 18th hole at Elmwood Golf Course. Wesloh would turn in a new personal low in round two, marking a 92 for a seven-stroke improvement.
