MOORHEAD, Minn. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its Academic All-District® At-Large honorees on Tuesday morning. Minnesota State Moorhead's golf and wrestling programs had six student-athletes honored.
The Dragons earning the prestigious honor included
Halle Balluff,
Regan Braun,
Aspen Beyer,
Parker Benz,
Pedro Velazquez and
Edon Davis.
Balluff earns her third consecutive Academic All-District® honor behind a cumulative GPA of 3.86. The senior graduated with her degree in accounting this past spring. Braun collects her second career CSC honor thanks to a 3.74 GPA as an elementary inclusive education major at MSUM. Beyer holds a 3.81 cumulative GPA as a business administration and nursing double major.
For Dragon wrestling, Benz held a 3.72 cumulative GPA as a finance major at MSUM. Benz earned his degree this past spring. Velazquez makes his second straight trip to the Academic All-District® list behind a 3.51 cumulative GPA. The senior earned his degree in business administration this past spring. Davis bolsters a 3.67 cumulative GPA as an actuarial science major.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 7 (women) and July 8 (men).
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
It is incumbent upon CSC members to nominate the most outstanding student-athletes at their institution based on the criteria below.
Academic standing:
- Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
- Nominee must be enrolled at their institution at the time of nomination as either an undergraduate or graduate student. Only the school at which an athlete competed in the current academic year can nominate that player.
- Student-athletes who have graduated from their own institution during the current academic year and are not competing in athletics at another institution at the time of nomination are eligible.
Academic eligibility:
- An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
- A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
- The cumulative grade point average may not be rounded up to 3.50.
Athletic eligibility: Sport-specific nomination criteria
- Women's Golf: Eligible nominees must be in the lineup for 75 percent of an institution's TEAM SCORING events OR in the lineup at the conference championship tournament.
- Wrestling: Eligible nominees must be in the lineup for at least 75 percent of TEAM SCORING events (open tournaments, duals) OR compete in their weight class at a conference championship meet.
