FARGO, N.D. – MSU Moorhead track & field saw solid marks all around at Saturday's Bison Team Cup. The Dragons saw a pair of event wins thanks to
Grace Dorsher (3000m) and the men's 4x400m relay squad.
Sprints/Relays
Shavantae Roberts would qualify for the 60m finals behind a 7.63 preliminary time. Roberts would clock a 7.57 in the event's finals to finish third overall. In the men's 60m,
Ibrahim Oduong (7.10) and
Louis Sobiech (7.19) would qualify for the finals. Oduong would place third in the final with a time of 7.04, a personal best. Roberts would also see a third-place finish in the 200m behind a season-best mark of 24.99, which sits as the third-fastest in program history.
Liv Birkeland would register a fresh personal best in the women's 400m with a time of 1:02.71. In the men's 400m,
Manjot Singh would earn a runner-up finish with a time of 50.62.
Frosty Wisnewski placed eighth in the same race behind a mark of 51.80.
To close the meet on the track, MSUM's 4x400m team of Oduong, Wisnewski, Singh and
Jasiah Hambira won the event with a time of 3:26.33. The Dragon squad of
Hunter Miller,
Jaiden Peraza,
Rory Richardson and
Colin O'Farrell placed third with a time of 3:34.35.
Jumps/Vaults
Tylah Pratt would place fifth in women's high jump, clearing 5-02.5 (1.59m). Pratt had the third best height but fell to fifth with more failures than her fellow competitors.
Kilee Bladow placed ninth in the same event with a height of 5-0.5 (1.54m). Peraza would place third on the men's side with a leap of 6-06.75 (2.00m) while Hambira would finish fourth behind a 6-04.75 (1.95m) clearance.
Jazmin Barry would earn a third-place finish for the Dragons in women's long jump, leaping 19-02.5 (5.85m). Pratt would place 10
th with a mark of 17-02.25 (5.24m). In men's long jump,
David Daniels would finish sixth overall with a jump of 21-02.5 (6.46m).
Leya Teicher would lead the Dragon women in pole vault, clearing a personal best of 11-05.75 (3.50m) to place sixth. The mark for Teicher is tied for the ninth-best indoor pole vault in school history.
Katelyn Utecht would clear a personal best of 10-06 (3.20m) in the same event.
Noah Novotny was runner-up on the men's side, clearing 14-01.25 (4.30m). Novotny matched the winning height but featured more failures.
Throws
Jack Stewart would lead the Dragons in men's weight throw, marking a personal best of 44-10.75 (13.68m).
Ben Nyreen also registered a personal best of 40-05.5 (12.33m). In women's weight throw,
Kiley Kranz tossed a personal best of 45-10 (13.97m) while
Codi Bunting also had a personal best of 43-00.5 (13.12m).
In women's shot put,
Sam Azure would have a top toss of 36-04.25 (11.08m). Kranz would have a top throw of 39-02.5 (11.95m), finishing 11th for MSUM.
Distance
In the women's mile,
Abbie Christen registered a new personal best time of 5:24.30 to place eighth overall. On the men's side,
Salman Mohamed finished sixth with a collegiate best 4:27.02.
The men's 800m saw
Colin O'Farrell as the top Dragon, running a 1:57.17 to place third.
Rory Richardson (1:57.60),
Preston Miller (2:04.190 and
Will Massmann (2:05.52) would finish fifth through seventh. Richardson's time is a new collegiate best.
Grace Dorsher would win the women's 3000m run behind a personal best time of 10:43.26. Teammate
Kaela Traugott would finish in second with a mark of 10:49.98. In the men's 3000m, freshman
Lander Lahtinen was the top Dragon finisher at 8:52.63, placing third.
James Dorado (8:55.59),
Chase Hoechst (9:05.92),
Seth Meikle (9:07.77) and
Janis Riekstins (9:10.39) finished in places four through seven for MSUM.
Luke Buentello would finish ninth with a collegiate best time of 9:19.78.
