Gode Collects Massive Victory for Dragons Against MSU

MANKATO, Minn. – MSU Moorhead wrestling was led by an upset performance at 174 pounds on Sunday afternoon. The Dragons fell in dual action to Minnesota State, 26-10.
 
Ryan Henningson would get the Dragons on the team scoreboard at 133 pounds thanks a major decision. Henningson scored three takedowns in the first period en route to an 18-10 result over Chase Beckett. Pedro Velazquez would give the Dragons a lead at 141 pounds, scoring a 6-1 decision. Velazquez had takedowns in both the first and third periods. 
 
Jacob Reinardy would battle with 15th-ranked Kole Marko at 165 pounds, Marko was aggressive in the first period, scoring three takedowns. However, Reinardy would reverse Marko's final takedown to trail 9-4 after one period. Reinardy would score a takedown in the second period but would be unable to score again in a 12-8 battle.
 
Mason Gode would highlight the Dragon efforts at 174 pounds, scoring a big victory over sixth-ranked Drake Hayward. Gode opened the scoring in the second period with a reversal after choosing the bottom position. Leading 2-1 heading into the third period, Gode earned a needed takedown, along with a ride time bonus point to win, 6-2.
