MANKATO, Minn. – MSU Moorhead track & field concluded competition at the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. The Dragons had four more All-NSIC performances on day two.
The Dragon men finished fourth in the team standings with 77 points while MSUM's women finished ninth as a team with 20 points.
Hunter Miller would start the day in the heptathlon 60m hurdles for the Dragons. The sophomore marked a personal best 8.62 to place fourth and move into third place in the overall standings. Miller would finish sixth in the pole vault portion with a clearing of 12-05.25 (3.79m).
The Motley, Minn., native clocked a personal-best 2:55.30 in the 1000m to wrap competition. Miller narrowly missed All-NSIC honors in the event, finishing with a career-best 4861 points. The point total is the third-best heptathlon performance in MSUM history.
In the men's 400m finals,
Ibrahim Oduong would grab All-NSIC distinction with a runner-up finish. Oduong clocked a 48.86 in the final to earn the placement.
Shavantae Roberts would also see a runner-up finish in the women's 60m finals. Roberts would cross the line at 7.42, which builds on her personal best and MSUM school record. Roberts would also step onto the podium in the 200m dash, clocking a 24.68 finals time, placing fifth.
Colin O'Farrell would lead the Dragons in the 800m run, earning All-NSIC distinction with a third-place finish. O'Farrell clocked a personal-best time of 1:53.98, which is now the fifth-fastest 800m in program history.
Rory Richardson would collect a podium finish in the same final, marking a 1:58.93.
Abbie Christen would land on the podium behind a seventh-place finish in the 1000m run. Christen finished the race with a time of 3:03.94.
Grace Dorsher would set a new personal best in the 3000m run, clocking a 10:22.51, the eighth-fastest in program history.
Chase Hoechst would post the top time on the men's side, clocking a 8:42.07 for a podium finish.
Women's shot put saw
Kiley Kranz set a new personal best, tossing a 43-01 (13.13m). The mark for Kranz is the fifth-best indoor shot put in program history. Kranz would narrowly miss the podium with a ninth-place finish in the event.
In men's triple jump,
Rollie Hanna would continue his strong debut weekend, marking an NCAA provisional jump. Hanna marked a 49-01 (14.96m) to qualify for the finals flight with the leap being the second-best indoor triple jump in school history. Hanna would carry the mark to a runner-up finish, earning All-NSIC honors.
To close the meet, MSUM's 4x400m relay team of Oduong,
Jasiah Hambira,
Manjot Singh and
Frosty Wisnewski would finish fifth behind a time of 3:20. 15.
