PUEBLO, Colo. – Minnesota State Moorhead junior sprinter
Shavantae Roberts earned her second All-America nod of the season on Thursday. Roberts finished 11
th overall in the preliminaries of the 100m dash at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
The Abaco, Bahamas native would clock an 11.44 in heat two of the preliminaries to earn the placement. With the performance, Roberts will earn Second Team All-America status in the event. It is the junior's second All-America distinction after a First Team showing in the indoor 60m dash.
Roberts entered the race ranked 14
th in the country but was the NSIC's top finisher in Thursday's preliminaries. The sprinter placed third in her heat, just .05 off an automatic qualification. The race concludes another historic year for Roberts, who set MSUM school records in the indoor 60m (7.40) and 200m (24.45) as well as the outdoor 100m (11.42).
