DULUTH, Minn. – Minnesota State Moorhead track & field began competition at the NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday. Sophomore
Hunter Miller kicked off action in the men's decathlon.
With five events remaining, Miller sits in second place with a score of 3359. Miller sits just three points behind the overall leader.
Miller would begin the day in the decathlon 100m dash, clocking a personal best of 11.04 to place runner-up. In the second event of the day, the long jump, Miller would turn in a top leap of 20-01.5 (6.13m) to place eighth. In the shot put portion, Miller would place 12
th with a top throw of 31-01.25 (9.48m).
The Motley, Minn., native would turn in a stirring performance in high jump, winning the event with a clearance of 6-03.25 (1.91m). The jump marks a new outdoor personal best for the sophomore. To conclude day one action, Miller would finish runner-up in the 400m dash, marking a 52.23. It marks a new collegiate best for Miller who enters tomorrow with 3359 points.
The NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championships continue tomorrow with events beginning at 9 a.m.
