MARSHALL, Minn. – Minnesota State Moorhead golf began play at the EverSpring Inn & Suites Mustang Invitational on Saturday morning. After 18 holes, MSUM is in 12th place on the team leaderboard with a cumulative score of 356.
Senior
Halle Balluff would card a strong 81 through her first 18 holes. Balluff's round included seven pars as well as a pair of birdies. The Moorhead, Minn., native earned one-under scores on the par five seventh holes and the par four 15th hole at Marshall Golf Club. The seventh hole birdie landed despite the yardage spanning over 500.
Adi Houkom would turn in an 88 to follow Balluff as the true freshman would hole five pars and a pair of birdies. Houkom earned her birdies on a pair of par fours in the third and 17th holes.
Aspen Beyer would pencil in a 93 on her scorecard on day one in a round that offered up six pars.
Regan Braun would close out the scoring portion of MSUM's day, marking a 94 overall. Braun's round featured a trio of even scores.
Karlee Luneckas would turn in a 97 through 18 holes, including four pars.
The final round of the EverSpring Inn & Suites Mustang Invitational is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow.
