MARSHALL, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead golf saw a 17-stroke improvement to conclude play at the EverSpring Inn & Suites Mustang Invitational on Sunday. The Dragons finished 11th overall with a 36-hole score of 695.
Moorhead shot a cumulative 339 on the second day, moving up one position on the team leaderboard.Â
Aspen Beyer would shine on day two for the Dragons, shooting an 81 overall and moving up 14 positions on the individual leaderboard. Beyer was strong all day, carding eight pars and a pair of birdies. The sophomore earned even marks on three straight holes to wrap the front nine at Marshall Golf Club. Beyer earned one-under scores on the par three 10th hole and the par four 13th hole.
Halle Balluff would finish a stroke back of Beyer on the second day, shooting an 82Â with nine pars. Balluff also earned three straight pars on the sixth, seventh and eighth holes.Â
Karlee Luneckas would enter the scoring on day two for Moorhead, shooting an 87 overall. The 10-stroke improvement from Luneckas was paced by two pars and a birdie on the par four fifth hole.
Adi Houkom would close the scoring contingent for the Dragons, carding an 89 with seven pars.
Regan Braun would shoot an identical 89 for MSUM with seven pars and a birdie. Braun earned three straight pars on the 12th, 13th and 14th holes while holing the birdie on the par five seventh hole.Â
