SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Minnesota State Moorhead soccer dropped an NSIC match to Sioux Falls on Sunday afternoon. The Dragons fell 5-0.
Sioux Falls would control action from the opening kickoff, putting the match's first shot on net 64 seconds in. The shot was stalled by Dragon keeper
Rylee Truslow. Moorhead registered its first shot not long after as
Ana Cecilia Walker fired off a ball that did not find the target. The Cougars would continue to get looks on the net as MSUM fell victim to an own goal in the 29
th minute.
Before the end of the half, Sioux Falls would score again to take a 3-0 lead into the locker room. The Cougars had 12 total shots in the first half with eight logged as shots on goal. Truslow made six saves through 45 minutes of action.
The second half would see the Dragon offense pick up as
Jensen Seidel had a pair of shots in the first 10 minutes.
Lilly Johnson would have a strong chance on net in the same stretch that was saved by the Cougar backline. Sioux Falls would tack on a goal in the 81
st minute to lead 4-0 and would extend the lead to five goals before the match's end.
Truslow finished the contest with 11 saves for the Dragons.
