MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead wrestling has a busy week of conference duals on the schedule. The Dragons travel to take on Minnesota State on Friday at 7 p.m. before a bout with Sioux Falls on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Live video and results will be available at msumdragons.com. The Dragons are coming off a 2-0 week in dual action after defeating Southwest Minnesota State (28-13) and Concordia College (35-13).

Babitt Cruises...Sophomore heavyweight Liam Babitt saw another dominant week of matches for the Dragons, earning two pins. Babitt earned an early takedown of SMSU's Evan Thompson, eventually sticking Thompson early in the second period at 3:33. Against Concordia College, Babitt found himself wrestling from behind against Mason Swanson. The Cobber heavyweight, who is ranked 13th in Division III would secure a first-period takedown. Babitt would use a pair of escapes to come within one point before the sophomore took over. The Soldotna, Alaska, product would take down Swanson, eventually turning him for a fall at 4:43 in the second period.

Garden of Edon...Sophomore 184-pounder Edon Davis looked sharp in MSUM's two duals last weekend. Davis would grab an early takedown against SMSU's Carter Paulson. Davis would then work Paulson into a precarious position not long after, sticking his opponent at 2:07 of the first period. The win by the sophomore secured the 28-13 victory for the Dragons. The Farmington, Minn., native was dominant on Saturday against Concordia College as well, scoring a 21-3 technical fall victory over Aiden Russell.

One Mighty Mele...Redshirt senior Clayson Mele was frenetic in his offense in two matches last weekend.  Mele would secure a first-period takedown and would tally over three minutes of riding time in a 5-0 decision over SMSU's Preston Preston Xayachak. Mele would jumpstart the Dragons against Concordia College, earning a swift takedown of Jeison Ingram. Mele would get Ingram's shoulders on the mat at 1:21 for a pin and six team points.

Syko and Benz Take Off...Juniors Anthony Sykora and Parker Benz had offense on their mind last weekend for the Dragons. Against SMSU, Sykora would use a multitude of fakes and slide-bys to rack up four early takedowns on Noah Jensen. Sykora would use the early offense to clinch an 18-6 major decision while Benz earned a 9-5 decision. On Saturday against the Cobbers, Benz would be quick to his offense at 149 pounds, quickly taking down Aidan Ruddy and eventually pinning him 26 seconds into the match. Sykora would rack up 19 points in a technical fall victory over Nate Kisgen.
