Moorhead Wrestling Overpowers Jamestown

| By:
JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Minnesota State Moorhead wrestling looked strong in the final dual of the 2025-26 regular season. The Dragons toppled Jamestown, 36-10.

Clayson Mele would help the Dragons start fast at 125 pounds, using four takedowns to build a sizable lead. The senior would also score a three and four-point nearfall to tally a 19-1 technical fall. After 133 pounds, Jamestown would hold a 6-5 lead on the team scoreboard.

Moorhead would go on a run from there, sparked by Pedro Velazquez at 141 pounds. The senior looked solid against Kellen Larson, scoring a bonus point in a 10-1 patented major decision. Parker Benz would hold off a late rally from Alvy Henderson at 149 pounds to win 15-12. Following the win from Benz, MSUM held a 12-6 advantage.

Senior Jacob Thomas would continue his hot streak to put the Dragons firmly in control. Thomas would secure a second-period pin over Maddox Campbell for his third win in as many duals. A returning Mason Gode appeared to be in late season form already at 165 pounds. Despite only wrestling in one match so far this season, Gode dominated Rocker Aguilar, marking a 15-0 technical fall.

With MSUM holding a sizable 23-6 lead, Anthony Sykora would add on. Sykora used early offense and late poise to claim a 16-9 decision over Kade Graves. Wyatt Powell would turn in a resounding performance to close action for the Dragons. The 197-pounder quickly found himself in a three-point hole to Dane Hartmann but would quickly rally to regain a one-point lead. Powell would use nearfall points to grab a 14-6 major decision. At heavyweight, Liam Babitt would win by forfeit to seal a 36-10 win for Moorhead.
